I’ve chopped, and chopped, and chopped, and sanded and salted again and again! I’ve got a good sized parking lot and had to block some of it off for safety. It’s going to remain frigid cold outside until Tuesday, so I don’t expect it to melt away until then. I can’t wait until spring comes along.

This is what I do in the evening in front of the TV. I have to be doing something other than watching TV, or I feel like my time is being wasted. These critters are all needle felted and one-of-a-kind.

I love these little coin purses. I can use the left over felted fabric pieces that I used to make other projects. They are really easy to make, but you’ll have to wait until my book comes out (some day) for the instructions.

I didn’t make a purse with this fabric. I didn’t want to loose the design I worked so hard to make. So I made this pillow.

Purse made from felted green fabric

This is the purse I made from the green fabric I felted.

The background fabric is layered greens and blues. There are white oval shapes covered with blue, and yellow/orange flower petals. The flowers match perfectly with the satin lining which was made from a cast-off skirt. The ring handles were also cast-offs from a purse that was no longer useful.It measures about 14 1/2″ high (including the handles) by 11″ wide. It measures 9″ high not including the handles.

This is what I did today. I think next time I’ll make the overall design elements smaller. I think the flower designs are too big, although it will make a great looking purse.

Yesterday I made this felt fabric that I’m going to use for a purse or something.

Felted Floral Fabric

These pictures show the process of wet felting a piece of fabric.

Here I am gently tearing pieces of wool from one of my Big Batts.

I layered the black wool three layers deep using four ounces of wool.

I laid out the flowers and leaves in the colors that I wanted

I wet it down with hot soapy water

I rolled it, and rolled it, and rolled it using my rolling kit (which can be purchased for $14 from my store)

It’s starting to shrink and turn into fabric

I took pictures of my chickens today. This is cutie. She’s a small rolly-polly chicken that walks like a duck because she has such a load of feathers on her feet. She’s the smallest of my chickens, and the most picked on. She’s really sweet and cute.
