Woohoo!!! I was just accepted to the 2012 New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival. This is a BIG deal!! I’ll be setting up my booth in barn #1. I’m so excited!!

The 36th annual NH Sheep and Wool Festival, at Deerfield fairgrounds, Deerfield, NH, will feature: sheep shearing, fiber animals, dog herding demonstrations, sheep dog trials, youth shows and activities, fiber shows, spinning and weaving demonstrations, fleece judging and sale, breed displays, educational programs, special workshops and lectures, as well as, over 120 vendors.

Yesterday I made this felt fabric that I’m going to use for a purse or something.

Felted Floral Fabric

These pictures show the process of wet felting a piece of fabric.

Here I am gently tearing pieces of wool from one of my Big Batts.

I layered the black wool three layers deep using four ounces of wool.

I laid out the flowers and leaves in the colors that I wanted

I wet it down with hot soapy water

I rolled it, and rolled it, and rolled it using my rolling kit (which can be purchased for $14 from my store)

It’s starting to shrink and turn into fabric
