Icy

I’ve chopped, and chopped, and chopped, and sanded and salted again and again! I’ve got a good sized parking lot and had to block some of it off for safety. It’s going to remain frigid cold outside until Tuesday, so I don’t expect it to melt away until then. I can’t wait until spring comes along.

Felted Critters

This is what I do in the evening in front of the TV. I have to be doing something other than watching TV, or I feel like my time is being wasted. These critters are all needle felted and one-of-a-kind.

Purse made from felted green fabric

This is the purse I made from the green fabric I felted.

The background fabric is layered greens and blues. There are white oval shapes covered with blue, and yellow/orange flower petals. The flowers match perfectly with the satin lining which was made from a cast-off skirt. The ring handles were also cast-offs from a purse that was no longer useful. It measures about 14 1/2″ high (including the handles) by 11″ wide. It measures 9″ high not including the handles.

You can buy it on my website at Shop The Black Sheep

Green Felted Fabric with Orange Flowers

This is what I did today. I think next time I’ll make the overall design elements smaller. I think the flower designs are too big, although it will make a great looking purse.

Layers of wool

Just a few more flowers to lay out.

Hot soapy water on my fabric-to-be

It's magic! Those wool fibers are turning into a sturdy fabric.

A close-up of one of the flowers

Ta-Daa! It's done.

Almost Ready to Open The Store

Well I’ve been busy, busy, busy getting the store and classroom ready to open for business.

I’ve torn up rugs, put down tile, built two 8′ tables, painted and installed shelves, ordered inventory, hung a new door for the store…….

One of the 8' tables

I painted one closet door with chalkboard paint, and one I put corkboard on.

Getting ready for Christmas

This is a picture of wool batts for sale. Some are not unwrapped yet.

Besides selling feltmaking supplies in the store, I'll be selling some of my jewelry and needle felted items.
